Tennis is one of many sports that are coached at the school, and St Edward’s facilities provide a range of hard and astro-turf courts.
Tennis is one of the major sports for girls in the summer term, and is organised into Senior Girls, U15 and U14 teams. The girls compete against individual schools and in the ISTA Championship. Non-team players are also able to receive coaching and enjoy the game.
Sixth Form boys can choose tennis as their main games option – with a full fixture list – in the summer term. Lower School boys can enjoy tennis either as a second sport choice or in their free time.
We invite our strongest players to take part in a winter training program which takes place on our indoor courts at the Nuffield Health Fitness & Well-being Gym.
St Edward’s has a close association with the Oxfordshire Racquet Academy. The best players (both boys and girls) are warmly welcomed into this programme and may play additional matches throughout the year. This training is in addition to regular sports commitments.
