Our athletic development programme is designed to ensure every pupil leaves St Edward’s not just as a better athlete, but as someone with the foundation to pursue sport and exercise for life.

We are dedicated to developing young athletes into confident, capable, and well-rounded individuals, with an emphasis on both performance and lifelong engagement with exercise. Our athletic development programme provides pupils with the opportunity to enhance their physical abilities, improve their overall fitness, and foster a healthy lifestyle that extends well beyond their time at school. We take pride in offering an inclusive, progressive, and flexible approach, catering to the needs of each individual and supporting them on their journey.


THE ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME AT TEDDIES

  • Sport-specific strength and conditioning programmes for rugby, rowing, hockey, football, netball, tennis, cricket, and athletics
  • Speed, agility, and conditioning sessions delivered to all age groups and sports
  • Two performance gyms, alongside access to the Nuffield Health Centre
  • Gold standard testing and performance assessments (strength, power, speed, agility)
  • A progressive Sports Award holder pathway from Shell to Sixth Form based on our long-term athletic development model
  • Rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes, working alongside our qualified physiotherapist
  • Education on the importance of training and recovery strategies
  • Match day support
  • Collaboration with external clubs and high-performance pathways
