Jeremy John Voizey (Mac’s, 1955-1960)
Died 6th December 2022 aged 80.
The following obituary was kindly provided by Jeremy’s son, Guy (Mac’s, 1982-1987).
Jeremy Voizey, died on 6th December 2022 in QEQM Hospital, Margate, after a short illness. He was a member of Mac’s between 1955 and 1960. He took a more active interest in OSE matters when his son Guy joined Mac’s in 1982 and remained a regular attendee at OSE events. His last OSE event was the South East regional lunch a month before he died.
On leaving school, Jeremy joined Barclays Bank, remaining with them, primarily in East Kent, until he took early retirement in 1997. He married Amanda in 1966; at the time of her death in July 2022, they had been married almost 56 years. In addition to Guy, he is survived by his daughter, Charlotte, and grandchildren, Stuart and Molly.
Outside work, Jeremy was a committed member of the Rotary Club, forming friendships locally, nationally, and internationally, and raising funds to support a wide range of causes. He was also a long-standing supporter of the League of Friends of Margate, now QEQM, Hospital; during his time as Chairman, the committee raised more than £1 million to support the hospital.
