As many of you will know, our Treasurer Anthony Gibbons, passed away on Friday 24th November after battling a nasty illness for much of the year. Our thoughts are with Corinne and her family at this sad time.

Anthony had a long career in the Metropolitan Police which gave him a wonderful “un-flappable” quality and he could always see a way of dealing with any problems that arose. I always had the impression that he had seen it all before and he always seemed to have words of wisdom to share in a crisis.

I will miss Anthony’s cheerfulness, sense of humour and fun and his grounded common sense. He was a wonderfully hospitable person and greatly enjoyed hosting the social occasions at Sunnyside House.

Anthony had been our Treasurer for over five years and did a great job to keep our finances on track. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. The History Group have made a donation of £50 to Medecins San Frontiers in memory of Anthony.
