Michael Strubell Trueta

Michael Strubell Trueta (Tilly’s, 1962-1966) passed away on the 5th of March 2022, at the age of 72.
Michael Strubell was a Catalan linguist, who has published multiple books on the Catalan language.
Upon leaving St Edward’s, Michael went on to study Psychology and Physiology at Oxford University, followed by further degrees which he undertook in London and Barcelona.
After working in international schools in Barcelona for a time, Michael went on to help lead the Government of Catalonia’s programme for the recovery of the Catalonian language.
His skills as a linguist were recognised at an international level, and he was invited to consult for the ‘Council of Europe and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe’.
