Meet the HM

Sam joined St Edward’s in 2022 as a teacher of Drama, becoming Head of Academic Drama during his first year at the School.  He also holds the position of Co-Head of Social Responsibility. Sam studied at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama before going on to gain his teaching qualification at the Institute of Education. Before joining Teddies, he was an Associate Lecturer on the PGCE course at Warwick University, where he led on Drama, and he previously taught at North London Collegiate School. Sam brings a wealth of pastoral experience to his new role: during his career, he has held the positions of Director of Pastoral Care, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head of Year.

Beyond teaching, Sam directs professional pantomime and established The UK Pantomime Association, where he produces the annual Pantomime Awards. Sam is also a Trustee of the Royal and Derngate Theatre in Northampton and acts as an EDI consultant to various organisations.

Sam lives in Jubilee with his partner Alicia and their three children, Winne, aged one, and twin boys, Monty and Barnaby, who are nine years old.
