Meet the HM
Lauren was educated at Kingstone School followed by Greenhead College. She continued her studies at the University of York taking a BA Honours in English and History followed an MA in Public History. Lauren then worked at a special education school for children with complex needs before deciding to become a teacher and completing School Centred Initial Teacher Training at Parkwood Academy in Sheffield, where she stayed for three years.
Lauren joined Teddies in 2018 to teach English. She has been actively involved in Houses from the start, as a tutor and resident tutor; before becoming Housemistress in 2022, she was the Assistant Housemistress in Oakthorpe. Lauren was also the IB CAS Coordinator, and Head of Community Engagement, now known as Beyond Teddies, for two years. She coaches tennis, netball and hockey.
In the holidays, Lauren enjoys challenging camping adventures, travel, reading and relaxing. She is married to Marie-Claire, who is also a teacher and Director of Music, with whom she has a friendly and playful French Bulldog, Moose.
She is committed to making Mac’s a home away from home, full of laughter, kindness and, of course, hard work!
From September 2025 Ross Perry will be Acting HM of Macnamara’s whilst Lauren is on maternity leave:
Acting HM of Mac’s, Ross Perry
Ross was educated at Warwick School, before continuing his studies at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, completing a MA in History followed by PGCE. He completed his first teaching placement at Blessed George Napier Catholic School in Banbury before joining St Edward’s in 2021 as a Teacher of History. He was a tutor in Tilly’s before moving into Mac’s as an Assistant House Master in 2022 and was Acting Head of Super-Curriculum in 2024-25. He coaches hockey, cricket and tennis and was Head of Golf for three years before taking on the HM role in Mac’s.
In the holidays Ross enjoys playing golf, running and travelling when time permits. He has recently welcomed a dachshund puppy, Frankie, into the House.
During his maternity cover Ross is committed to continuing the reputation of Mac’s as an incredibly kind, supportive and close-knit House, while also driving a strong sense of House spirit through House events.
