Meet the HM
Lucy Hamblin-Rooke has been Housemistress of Corfe since 2019. She teaches Sports Science and coaches hockey, netball and tennis. She was Head of Netball for two years when she first arrived at Teddies.
After leaving school, Lucy worked closely with estate agents, setting up her own business providing virtual tour photography and EPC certificates for property going on to the market. After two years she felt the draw back to sport and the pastoral life of education and went back to the school she attended, Pangbourne College. She stayed there for nine years as a teacher, Sports coach, Head of Girls’ Games, Outreach Officer, Assistant Housemistress of a boys’ boarding house and finally, for the last three years, the Housemistress of a girls’ boarding house. Whilst working at Pangbourne Lucy gained her Sports Science degree at St Mary’s University and has been teaching Sports Science ever since.
Lucy has a daughter, Olive, with her partner Jack, who is a tailor and keen sportsman.
Lucy is very proud of Corfe; all the girls and staff within it. It is a very special community, one where we care so passionately about nurturing the girls to become the best versions of themselves when they leave school.
