The Christie Centre
The Christie Centre is the newest addition to St Edward’s original Victorian Quad – a suite of modern and flexible classroom and study spaces topped with the collegiate-style Roe Reading Room.
The classrooms of the L-shaped Christie Centre are modern and light and provide flexible spaces for classes of different sizes. The rooms are arranged over three floors and several have removable partitions, allowing one to create a larger space if necessary.
The impressive university-style Roe Reading Room at the very top of the building features an exposed diagrid roof structure made from laminated oak. Views from the floor-to-ceiling windows at its apex extend to the hills of Wytham. A mezzanine provides a more private space up in the roof.
