Gaudy 2021

Welcome to Gaudy 2021! We hope you can join us for as many of these entertaining events as possible through our dazzling streamed schedule that will beam the glory of Gaudy Week around the world via the website. See below for schedule details.


Monday 28th June

6.00pmDuke of Edinburgh Award Presentation Evening.
See this year’s Gold award participants deliver their expedition presentations on surviving 4 self-sufficient days walking and camping across the remote terrain of the Black Mountain and Brecon Beacons. 

8.00pm, Leavers’ Platform.
The Upper Sixth leavers present a programme of solos and duets in the historic Holywell Music Rooms in Oxford city, the oldest concert rooms in England. We celebrate their achievements in this final recital, as they present their own choice of varied styles and genres.

Tuesday 29th June

6.00pm, Theatre Soc Shorts.
A collection of short scenes and extracts from a variety of theatre to intrigue, inform and entertain performed by members of Theatre Soc Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth.

8.00pm, Pathways Drama.
Our Fourth Form Drama Pathway pupils are staging three pieces for Gaudy including adaptations of Jim Cartwright’s Road and Two, and Footprints, an anthology compiled of scenes from different authors. Pupils will perform, design and take back stage roles, learning how a professional theatre company takes a play from page to stage, with support from the North Wall’s tech team.

Wednesday 30th June

8.00pm, Shell Drama Promenade – ‘The Wardrobe’ 
Across five centuries of British history, small groups of children seek sanctuary in the same solid, old wardrobe. It’s the safest place they know but is it safe enough?

Thursday 1st July

6.00pm, Pathways Music.
Fourth Form pupils taking Music and Music Technology Pathway present an evening showcasing their composition work, including music technology compositions and live performances.

8.00pm, LAMDA Presentation.
A showcase of solo monologues, duologues, theatrical miniatures and musical theatre pieces – support our amazing students showing pieces from their LAMDA portfolios.

Friday 2nd July

8.00pm, Gaudy Concert.
Watch our Concert Band and Choirs perform individual pieces, and then enjoy four of our Upper Sixth showcase their talents, with Mozart Piano Concerto in D and Vaughan Williams Five Mystical Songs.

Saturday 3rd July

6.00pm, Dance Show.
The Best of British: Watch the spectacle that is the Gaudy Dance Showcase, with every style represented in an evening of entertainment and delight. Our 120 dancers perform their programme, from the Olivier.

8.00pm, Prize Givings and Speeches.


Camilla Holder Exhibition, North Wall Gallery.
Observing and recording the play of light and shadow across the day in nature and landscapes forms the central theme of this exhibition. This series of new works by artist Camilla Holder is created in response to local spaces, including Port Meadow and the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside.

While we are sadly not now able to invite parents in person to these events, pupils will be cheered on and their talents enjoyed by their peers and staff in the schedule below. We do still hope parents will join us for the action-packed streamed schedule above.
