Paul Henry Russell Smith

1931-2021 (Sing’s, 1944-1948) 

 

The following obituary was provided by Paul’s wife, Jacky Russell Smith.

 

Paul died peacefully at home on the 11th  of January 2021. A place he loved surround by his wife Jacky his daughter Leigh and son John.

 

 He had six grandchildren and was an adored grandpa.

 

Paul lived in Berkhamsted for most of his childhood.

 

He went to Swanbourne Preparatory school in Buckinghamshire from the age of nine and then won a scholarship to St Edwards.

 

He very much enjoyed his time there and participated in most sports.

 

He took up hockey after being introduced to it by his brother Sidney. He carried on his hockey career at West Herts and Cheam Hockey Club in Surrey.

 

After St Edwards he went into the RAF in the pay corp.

 

Paul lived in Epsom for over 56 years and had his own Chartered Accountancy Practice.

 

Paul loved travel and went to many places abroad.  His favourite, however, was our holiday home in Menorca.

 

Paul Russell Smith – born 15th April 1931, died 11th January 2021.
