The publishing of exam results always produces mixed outcomes and a range of emotions. This is particularly true of the IB results received by some 100 Teddies pupils this week. Of course there is much to celebrate, and all IB pupils are to be commended for their hard work over the past two years and for their fortitude in dealing with the highly unusual circumstances this summer. Particular congratulations go to Gwendy Davenport, Natalia Elezovic and Ella Leeson, who all achieved 40 points; to Ben Courtney-Guy, Alex MacCrindle and Flo von Simson, who scored 39 points; and to Will Tozer, Oscar Hilton-Johnson, Can Morand, Eva Livingstone and Lola Mora Balil who scored 38 points. The other side of the coin is that a significant number of pupils at Teddies and elsewhere have been adversely affected by the grading process, which has produced unexpected results in a large number of cases all over the world. The Warden, the IB team and many other schools continue to press for answers from the IB Organisation in Geneva and to urge universities to be flexible.
