The role:

If you are an Economics graduate looking for an exciting opportunity to learn new skills and develop your career, this is a chance to join the Economics Department of a leading independent boarding school in Oxford and play a full part in the academic, boarding and co-curricular life of St. Edwards.

In this role you will acquire and develop teaching skills, working closely with members of the Economics Department, assisting with classes, and making a significant contribution to extra-curricular activities and the super-curricular programme.

You will receive training in skills both related to teaching and transferable to other professions which will be beneficial for your future career in other areas.

This role is varied, and that variety is, to some extent, determined by the personality, enthusiasm and skills of the individual. The post has become a successful springboard for those considering teaching as a career and over several years Graduate Assistants have gone on to promising careers in major schools round the country.

We encourage Graduate Assistants to extend their experience by attending relevant training courses, at the school’s expense.

The role will begin in September 2025 for one academic year, with the possibility that the contract will be renewed for a second year in September 2026.
