CCF Inspection Parade

The annual CCF Inspection Parade took place in the Quad this morning in glorious sunshine. Awards were presented by our guest of honour, Air Commodore Chris Luck MBE, to the following pupils: the Top Gun Trophy (for the best Fifth Former) to L/Cpl William Webb; Commendation Awards to Sgt Freddie Bickers, Sgt Simon Brookes, Sgt Helene Burghoff, Sgt Toby Cornish, Sgt Tom Hayes, Magnus Speirs (who were all promoted today) Sgt Bart Pawley and Sgt Beth Reed; the Wakeling Stick to Sgt James Chainey; the Sultan Trophy to Chief pretty officer Ted Popham; and the Sword of Honour and Hopes Awards jointly to Sgt Hugo Marsh and Sgt Oscar von Hannover. Music was provided by the Concert Band who followed a lively set of marches with a very jolly Abba medley. The Parade is our annual opportunity to welcome a senior serving officer to St Edward’s to meet our highly-active CCF contingent, and to share the achievements of its members with the wider School.
