Two Senior Appointments

St Edward’s is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Sub-Warden for September 2022, and a Director of Sport with immediate effect.

Following the announced departure of Sub-Warden Tony Darby to take up the post of Founding Principal of Rugby School Japan later this year, Teddies is delighted to have appointed Clare Hamilton, currently Apsley Housemistress, to the role. Clare will take up the post in September, becoming the first female Sub-Warden in the School’s history. Clare joined St Edward’s in 2019 after a highly successful career running global education in the British Army and the Warden commented that she will bring, ‘a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience to the role’. The search for her successor in Apsley begins immediately.

Speaking of her appointment, Clare Hamilton said, ‘I’m delighted to have been appointed as Sub-Warden. It’s been a great pleasure being Housemistress of Apsley for three years and I’m excited to be part of driving the next phase of the School’s development and the daily operations of the whole School. Teddies is extremely busy – I will relish the challenge of making sure that all areas of the School work together and in partnership with our parents to provide the best possible educational experience for our pupils’.

Nic Bond has also been appointed as the new Director of Sport, and takes up the role with immediate effect. Nic has been Assistant Director of Sport for four years and, latterly, Acting Director of Sport. Of his appointment, Nic said, ‘I am incredibly excited to have been appointed Director of Sport at St Edward’s. The School is at a very exciting stage in its development in all areas and we have a far-reaching vision for sport at Teddies which we will share with you in due course. I look forward to working with the Warden, my colleagues and our pupils to ensure that Teddies is the first-choice school for pupils with a passion for sport at all levels.’
