Athletics at Marlborough

In athletics at Marlborough at the weekend v Brighton College, Portsmouth Grammar School, Dauntsey’s, Kingswood and the hosts, the senior boys’ team performed exceptionally well to come 2nd overall, and two school records were broken. Alfie Armitage-Hookes ran the inter 800m race in a time of 2.02, breaking Ed Womersley’s record of 2.03 from 2005. Dekoye Coker ran the inter 200m race in 23.7, breaking Brume Otubu’s more recent record of 23.9 from Cheltenham last year. Top individual rankings at Marlborough were as follows:

Inter boys
Dekoye Coker: 1st in the 100 and 200m
Alfie Armitage-Hookes: 1st in the 800 and 1500m;

Inter girls
Isabella Piesse: 3rd in the 200m

Senior boys
Team ranking: 2nd overall
Brume Otubu: 1st in the 100 and 200m
Oare Ezekiel: 1st in the high jump
Tanaka Chitsenga: 1st in the triple jump
Freddie Boyce: 1st in shot
Takura Chitsenga: 1st in the B string discus
Dan Brady: 1st in the B string 200m

Senior girls
Brandi Akpobome: 1st in the discus and shot
Izzy Rayner: 2nd in the 1500m
Clemmie Montgomerie: 2nd in the 200m
