Schools Head

At the Schools Head earlier this week, our boys Ist VIII did a superb job to come 6th overall behind Westminster, St Paul’s, Eton, Radley and Shrewsbury. This was a tremendous effort as they raced with Charlie Smith subbing in for an ill Albert Mitchell and with several of the rest of the crew also suffering from illness. The 2nd VIII also had to race with a sub on board and did a very promising job to come 9th overall ahead of Bedford, Shiplake, KCS and Pangbourne amongst others. The J16 boys VIII finished 10th in J16 Championship Eights and 20th in the overall J16 rankings. It is the first time for a while that we have had the numbers for a J16 eight as well as two senior eights and they will learn a great deal from the experience.

The J15 boys came 9th, just behind Eton and ahead of Shiplake in Championship Eights and 18th overall in the J15 rankings. They are a year group with a great deal of potential and they now need to press on with the hard work required to move up the rankings. Unfortunately the girls IV were not able to race one of the crew was taken ill on the way to the race.
