Director of Development

Closing Date:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead development fundraising in support of the School’s ambitious growth agenda, and especially to support aims for a significant increase in bursaries to enable wider access for pupils who might not otherwise be able to benefit from the outstanding education opportunities that the School offers.

The Development Office is responsible for identifying and obtaining major funding to assist the School in meeting the financial requirements necessary to ensure it remains at the forefront of independent education. Alumni relations and the Friends of St Edward’s are also managed by the Development Office.
The Director of Development will lead the School’s efforts to develop relationships with the School’s alumni, parents, friends and other interested parties to maintain and increase the level of funds received. The role is likely to require travel both within the UK and overseas to establish and foster these relationships.

Previous experience in a relevant senior fundraising role is desirable but applicants from other backgrounds will also be considered. Strong organisational skills will be essential, together with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to the School’s aims and objectives and the ability to represent these to donors in a friendly and positive manner.
